Charlie Pitcher

Performance Coach

My Bio

Charlie‘s background lies within professional sailing, having competed as a youngster in the America’s Cup, winning the Admiral’s Cup and Fastnet Race, as well as working with the RYA as a specialist in match racing and becoming a national coach.

Charlie’s focus has shifted towards specialising in ocean rowing. In 2009, he won the Woodvale Atlantic rowing race (now TWAC) as a solo rower - a record yet to be broken. This feat was surpassed in 2013 when he broke the world record for the fastest solo crossing for the Atlantic.

He has coached and advised the best known campaigners and rowers out there, including the famous Kung Fu Cha Cha girls who smashed the women’s world record in textbook style.  Today Charlie gets involved with every single new Rannoch boat build, the owners and likes to spend as much time as possible supporting his Rannoch rowers.

Lizzie Brown

Seamanship Coach

My Bio

Lizzie is very active in the sailing world, often seen racing her Corby racing yacht "Intense" on the East Coast.

Lizzie has years of coaching experience and shared her passion of the water with many of the youngsters in the town with the aim of creating “sailors for life”. She was involved for many years as "safety" at club and national level for dinghy sailing, and is always happy to share her experiences on this.

As well as having many hours of offshore and dinghy racing under her belt, Lizzie was an RNLI helmsman for over 15 years.

"Lizzie has a lifetime of experience on the water in all sorts of different boats - I cannot think of anyone better to learn seamanship skills from!" Charlie Pitcher
