Gary rows the Kent coast as part of epic 4 day challenge

What a fantastic day we had supporting "Gary's Challenges" with a 24 nm row along the Kent coast in near perfect weather conditions. The row was completed in our R45 'Fanfare' with Lizzie skippering the crew on this charity fundraising adventure.

Gary's Challenges 2022 is a 4 day event during which Gary Shaugnessy is running, rowing and cycling from "Arch to Arc". Raising funds for Parkinson's UK, Gary is running 84 miles from Marble Arch to Dover, rowing 24 nm from Dover to Ramsgate and back again (the equivalent distance of Dover to Calais), and finally cycling 185 miles from Calais to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

Gary was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 7 years ago and has taken on various challenges to raise funds for Parkinson’s U.K. He says:

"Each year the challenges have got bigger and bigger and this year is no exception. Huge thanks to the Rannoch Adventure team and especially our skipper, Lizzie, for making the row part of this challenge possible."

We wish Gary and his team all the best for the 185 mile cycle over the next couple of days.

Special thanks to Dover Marina and Dover Marine Services for their assistance in enabling this row.
