Ocean Rowing Taster Days

A one day ocean rowing experience day is ideal for anyone who wants to try out an ocean rowing boat or for whole crews booked for 2026 and 2027 events who would like to learn to row altogether, under the supervision and guidance of an experienced Rannoch Coach.

The day will start at 09.30 with an introductory chat and safety briefing before going afloat in an R45. You will typically undertake an 8-mile row, have an "expedition food" lunch or bring your own packed lunch, then another 8-mile row back. The day will finish around 17.00 with a debrief and any other business. The programme will take into consideration experience and individual requirements of those taking part.

The days will run subject to weather and a minimum of 3 rowers per day. Should your session have to be cancelled, we will offer you an alternative date.
