It was great to hear from Jordan Wylie this week - he told us about his Rannoch Explorer, A Million Dreams, being used to give year 9 pupils in South Wales an opportunity to try their hand at rowing as part of their enrichment activities.
The activity session took place at Goodwick Beach with the full support of the Fishguard and Goodwick Jemima rowing club, building close links with Ysgol Bro Gwaun. The club was donated the Rannoch Explorer in 2019 after Jordan had crossed the Bab el Mandeb Straits in her.
The weather and tides were perfect for carrying out the experience for pupils, which was carried out in line with Welsh Rowing recommendations. The smile on pupils faces was a sign of the enjoyment had by all. Experiences like this help develop pupils' interest in rowing, and encourage younger members to take up the sport, join a club and in doing so, have a huge impact on their well-being.
