Isle of Mull (July) 2022

Our July Mull crew skippered by Mark and Chris
Roxy leaving Oban

The Isle of Mull has provided a glorious playground for our Roxy Expedition this week. Our crew have been blessed with mostly very fine weather 🌞, fair winds and excellent rowing conditions (except day 1 which was a tad gusty!).

While some of the crew were experienced rowers, others had never rowed on open water before. The team gelled very quickly and it's been a pleasure watching them improve their performance on the oars over the five days 💪.

They've enjoyed a long row up the Sound of Mull, arriving into colourful and unforgettable Tobermory and a long day row down the west coast to Ulva Ferry. On Thursday they rowed overnight back to Oban via Fingal's Cave (where they anchored and  enjoyed lunch all together on deck) and beautiful Iona. Along the way they saw minke whales, porpoises, seals, puffins, oystercatchers, and dolphins at dawn 🐬.

Well done from Mark and Chris to Lara, Kate, Kim, Nia, Rowan, Alex, Peter and our Aussie trio Alisdair, Justin and Gordon (aka Where's Wally 😉) on your circumnavigation of Mull 👏.

Special thanks to the lovely Hilary at the Brew Box at Ulva Ferry for her delicious bacon rolls, cakes and coffees 🥰.
