Departing in November, a former fireman and Finlands #1 Adventure Celebrity, Jari has been training in cold, punishing conditions on a specially designed solo boat.
Over the past several years, Charlie Pitcher, Rannoch's founder, has been working closely with Finnish adventurer Jari Saario—first to manage his remarkable two-way row across the Atlantic, from east to west and then back again, finishing in Scotland. Since then, the two have been focused on planning an expedition that has never been attempted before—one that has always been Charlie’s dream, but which he has been unable to undertake himself due to business commitments. Now, Jari is set to make that dream a reality...

This November, Jari will depart from Chile to attempt a non-stop, unassisted solo row around Cape Horn from the west, continuing across the South Atlantic to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. The expedition has been aptly named "Horn to Hope".
Rannoch have custom-designed and built a specialised solo ocean rowing boat, and Charlie is managing the entire campaign — from logistics and preparation, to weather routing.
This will be a world-first in ocean rowing and one of the last great solo challenges yet to be conquered in the sport of Ocean rowing.
Jari, a former firefighter and currently Finland’s #1 adventure celebrity, has been quietly training in cold and extreme conditions for this mission. Charlie believes there is no one better suited to take on such an extraordinary feat.
At Rannoch, we continue to work with some of the greatest adventurers on the planet, but this campaign has truly brought out the very best in us—to give Jari the strongest possible platform to make history
