Over the past 5 days, a Rannoch R45 has taken centre stage at a prestigeous Monte Carlo hotel in support of team Pacific Discovery who became world record holders for the fastest mixed team to row across the Pacific Ocean just a few weeks ago.
Rendez-Vous de Septembre (RVS) – is an annual conference held in Monte Carlo which brings together 3000 delegates from the insurance and reinsurance market. It is the largest gathering in the sector.
This year, Swiss Re, one of the world's leading reinsurers, staged a fundraising event for Mind, the UK-based mental health charity, at the conference. This is to continue the initiative begun by Pacific Discovery, the first reinsurance team to successfully row 2,800 miles across the mid Pacific for mental health.
SwissRe commissioned Rannoch Adventure to produce a replica of the Pacific Discovery ocean rowing boat 'Iron Ore' and invited the conference delegates to visit the boat which was situated in the gardens of Salon Excelsior, Hôtel Hermitage. For each visitor to the boat, the reinsurer has donated 25 CHF to Mind.
Its been an honour to be part of this event - a great showcase for Rannoch ocean rowing boats.
