Colin Hogg

Colin Hogg, from Castletown Geoghegan in County Westmeath, Ireland has spent 20 years completing geophysics fieldwork projects all around the world ranging from the Kalahari Desert, the Canadian Arctic, West Africa, the Galapagos, the Azores, and even Leitrim!

Although new to rowing, Colin has always been active but the recent Irish success in the Worlds Toughest Row (Daragh McLaughlin and Andrew Breen) has inspired him to take on this Atlantic expedition.

In 2020, Colin’s newborn son Daniel died, and it’s only now that Colin is ready and focussed to take on a physical challenge to fundraise for an Irish baby loss charity.

With the support of his wife Nora and little daughter Hannah, Colin is committed to becoming a real asset to the ROXY team and learning from the other crew members.

“What are you most looking forward to about the expedition?”

“Pushing myself to the limits along with the team to achieve something notable, all while getting away from tech and having time to process life and all of its challenges and charms”
